Sacha will demonstrate how to access and interpret map data, understand NFIP insurance requirements, municipal and state regulations, flood mitigation opportunities for buildings and strategies to help prospective purchasers reduce losses from flooding and channel erosion. She works with members of the public on river corridor and floodplain issues in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. She provides National Flood Insurance Program support, technical assistance and permitting, geomorphic assessment and mapping, and river corridor conservation and restoration planning. Sacha became a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) in 2014. VAR will happily provide a full refund or transfer for cancellation or transfer requests received up to 12 days prior to a course offering. Because VAR reserved a seat in anticipation of your attendance; a fee in the amount of 15% of the original cost will be assessed for all cancellation or transfer requests received within 11 – 2 days of the course offering.
