A new requirement for license renewal in 2024*, this class focuses on the Vermont State Energy Goals, and what we, as Realtors, can do to help achieve those goals. In this class, you will learn what Vermont's transportation, electric, and thermal energy goals are for the next several years and how they plan to implement strategies and plans to meet those goals. We will also review how certifications and ratings for green construction, and how energy-saving updates and renovations can help Vermonters save money on their energy costs and improve the value of their home.

Rich Gardner
Rich is a native of Vermont and has been in the real estate business for 14 years. As a native Vermonter, he is committed to the overall economy and welfare of his home state. He was the 2012 President of the Northwestern Vermont Board of REALTORS® and was nationally certified to teach the Green Designation course to fellow REALTORS®.

Rich has a degree in Architectural Engineering and grew up building, designing, and overseeing the construction of hundreds of residential homes with his family’s construction company. Rich, his wife Allison, and sons Theo and Thomas live in Colchester.

When he is not selling property, you will likely find him spending time with his family, friends, or fishing. Rich and Allison are proud supporters of several organizations including Camp Ta kum Ta where Rich has spent the last 12 years as a volunteer cabin counselor and a current member of the board.

VAR® will happily provide a refund for cancellation or transfer requests received up to 7 days prior to a course offering. Because VAR® reserved a seat in anticipation of your attendance any cancellations or transfers after 7 days will incur an administrative fee in the amount of $25.00. No refund will be given to those who cancel within 2 days of the course offering. No shows, i.e. individuals who did not sign in or out, who arrived late or left early or who did not show up at all – for any reason – are ineligible for any refund or transfer.
