This program will focus on the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) as it relates to real estate transactions, lending and insurance requirements, property value, development planning, and risk mitigation. This course will explain the flood zone determination process, demonstrate how to access and understand flood mapping products, describe options for disputing flood zone determinations, and assess ways to be proactive prior to a flood map change.

With the NFIP's increasing fiscal instability, advances in mapping technology, and policy reform, many changes are underway and will continue in the future, so it is important for all real estate professionals to be well-informed. The principal objective is to provide them with knowledge and resources that will enhance client representation and reduce liability.
